Lapsang Souchong - Organic
The most distinctive cup in the world. Lapsang Souchong is a legendary black tea from the Wuyi region of Fujian Province, China, traditionally smoke-dried over pinewood fires in a process unchanged for centuries. Our organic Shaowu-style Lapsang uses time-honoured methods to produce a smooth, warming cup with clean, elegant smoke and surprising delicacy — a tea that divides opinion but inspires devotion.
Tasting Notes: Deep, smoky aroma balanced by a smooth body and sweet finish. Notes of pinewood, leather, and dried fruit create a comforting fireside warmth without bitterness or harshness. Bold and unique — a tea that rewards slow sipping by an open fire.
How to Brew: One heaped teaspoon per cup, freshly boiled water at 100°C, steep for 3–4 minutes. Best enjoyed black to fully appreciate the smoke and complexity, though a splash of milk softens the smokiness beautifully. Also a favourite with a dash of whisky for an evening dram.
